Latest Updates

Here's the email I just sent out to all the registered runners(if you didn't get the email it's most likely b/c it went into your spam or bulk folder-- to avoid this happening in the future add to your contacts and/or "opt in" to the mailing list so your email account will stop blocking the emails--thanks!):

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for signing up for this year's Cle Elum 50k and 25k.  I want to let y'all know/remind y'all about a few things real quick:

25k start time will be at 9am instead of 8:30am

We still could use a few more volunteers for during a the race (including one or two with a 4WD truck willing to drive supplies and volunteers to the first aid station which is on a road that is best to have 4WD a little bit of clearance--a subaru could do it but a truck would be better) and few volunteers for before the race-- runner check in on staurday morning and one or two people to help with course marking on thursday(a runner who knows the course and doesn't get lost easily prefered).  As always volunteers earn a free entry for themselves or to give to who ever they want (maybe you!). email me if you or someone you know may be interested in volunteering.

Sold Out... Almost!: If your friends aren't on the Entrants Lists you might want to remind them the race has only a handful of spots still open! The limit is 200 total runners for the two races combined.

Please Carpool! The race is bigger than ever and there is limited parking. You can use the handy dandy Rainshadow Carpooling Website to help facilitate this.

Drop Bags: 50k runners can have them at Aid Station B(mile 15.2)  and Aid Station C(mile 23.6). 25k runners can have a drop bag at Aid Station C(mile 9.6). Drop bags will not return to the finish until the aid stations close-- bags from Aid B will return around 2pm and the bags from Aid C won't return until around 4pm so plan accordingly.

Cut-off Times: Cut-times are designed to make sure everyone is done before dark and so the volunteers know(roughly) when they get to head back to the start/finish for the post race party!
Aid Station A Cut-off: 11:00am
Aid Station B Cut-off: 12:30pm
Aid Station C Cut-off: 3:00pm for 50k and 12:30pm for 25k

Post Race: We'll again hang out by the creek at the finish eating sandwiches, fresh local fruit and drinks including fresh local beer from Boundary Bay Brewery.  Bring your lawn chairs it sit in and share with others. Friends and family welcome!

UP NEXT!: The next two trail Rainshadow Running Races are brand new and should not be missed, if you survive Cle Elum you'll love these new races: Mt Spokane 50k and 25k on October 8th near Spoakne, WA and Deception Pass 50k and 25k on December 10th near Anacortes, WA. And stay tuned for news of all the 2012 races which should be coming soon!

Thanks again for signing up and we'll see ya soon!
